Host a retreat in historic Langcliffe Hall, nestled in the Yorkshire Dales National Park
Welcome
Langcliffe Hall is a grade II listed Jacobean manor house nestled in the dramatic hills of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Surrounded by formal gardens, wildflower meadows, woodlands, and a productive organic kitchen garden and medicine garden, Langcliffe Hall is unlike any other retreat venue out there. It has a fairytale like charm, with no shortage of trailing roses, and meandering paths (often frequented by the resident geese, ducks, chickens and donkeys).
The house dates back to 1602 and has remained in the same family for over 400yrs. Still a family home, the house is cozy and full of history. Charlotte and Mark are the current generation managing the house. They will be onsite to assist with anything you may need during your stay.

The house has 9 bedrooms, sleeping up to 15 people. We recommend the ideal retreat group size would be 10 guests (not including facilitators).
There are:
3 single bedrooms
2 twin bedrooms

The Yoga Shala
Just across the yard from the house, the yoga shala comfortably fits 11 mats. It has huge French doors, with views across the patio to the woodland garden, and up to the impressive Blua Crag.
The shala is kitted out with yoga mats, bolsters and blankets.
There is a compost loo attached to the building.

The Grounds
You will have full access to the picturesque rambling gardens of Langcliffe Hall. Wildflowers spill out of the formal structure, overflowing into the paths and steps. There are winding paths to secluded nooks filled with tumbling roses and fairytale charm. The grounds feature herbaceous borders, native wildflower meadows, orchards, a woodland walk, and a large Victorian walled garden filled with organic vegetables, cutting flowers, and an apothocary garden, growing native medicinal herbs.

Additional things
There is a submerged spring water tank in the barnyard which is great for a cold water plunge if you’re feeling brave. It stays at a consistent 10 degrees celsius year round.
There are incredible hikes, sunrise and sunset spots just up the hill from the house.
Charlotte and Mark also offer kirtan (at no additional cost) for anyone who would like to add that to their retreat experience.

Catering
You may want to bring your favourite chef on retreat with you, but if you are interested in our in-house nourishment, Charlotte offers vegetarian/vegan catering using the highest quality local and seasonal ingredients, with plenty coming from the NourishHQ kitchen garden.
